Centrifugal Slurry Pump Application Overview

Centrifugal slurry pumps have become the most mainstream slurry transportation equipment due to their high efficiency, reliability, and relatively low maintenance costs.
Centrifugal slurry pumps utilize the centrifugal force generated by a rotating impeller to impart energy to the medium, similar to clear liquid centrifugal pumps. However, their design is far more complex. For media containing solid particles that are abrasive, erosive, and often corrosive, slurry pumps require special considerations in impeller structure, shaft seal type, material selection, and flow path design. The pump casing must be manufactured from special materials such as wear-resistant alloys, rubber, or ceramics, while the impeller needs to be wider and heavier to allow the passage of large particles, ensuring long-term stable operation under harsh conditions.
With the above characteristics, centrifugal slurry pumps are widely used in mining, steel, alumina refining, power generation, FGD,dredging, environmental protection, chemicals, pulp and paper,  coal, flotation, sugar beets, and textiles.
